Question 1

How much does the Centurion T-5 cost to rent at Silverthorn Resort?

Accepted Answer

The Centurion T-5 wakeboard boat rents for $637.45 per day or $3,824.70 per week at Silverthorn Resort, with a refundable $500 deposit.

Question 2

Do I need a boating license or California Boater Card to rent a boat?

Accepted Answer

No. A boating license, boating permit, or California Boater Card is NOT required to rent or operate our boats. However, ALL guests acting as Charter Captain or Co-Captain must complete the Houseboats.com Boater Safety Test before departure — a mandatory internal safety policy with NO exemptions, even for guests who already hold a California Boater Card or any other boating certification. The test takes approximately 10 minutes. Minimum age for primary operators is 21 years old. Please call us at 1-800-332-3044 with any questions.

Question 3

How many people can the Centurion T-5 hold?

Accepted Answer

The Centurion T-5 accommodates up to 8 passengers comfortably, perfect for groups who want to mix wakeboarding with cruising on Shasta Lake.

Question 4

What's the difference between the Centurion T-5 and the Axis T220-R?

Accepted Answer

The Centurion T-5 has no ballast system, so it is best for tubing, water skiing, and beginning wakeboarders — and it is very fast. The Axis T220-R ($1,243.55/day vs $637.45/day) has ballast and wake-shaping technology, so it is the boat to choose if you want to wake surf or jump a bigger wake.

Question 5

Is the Centurion T-5 good for wakesurfing?

Accepted Answer

No. Our Centurion T-5s do not have ballast systems, so they do not build a surfable wake and are not well suited to jumping. The T-5 is a great, very fast boat for tubing, water skiing, and beginning wakeboarders. If wake surfing is your goal, choose the Axis T220-R, which has ballast and wake-shaping controls.

Question 6

Where should I wakeboard from Silverthorn Resort?

Accepted Answer

The Sacramento River Arm offers wide, calm water ideal for wake sports, especially in the morning. From Silverthorn you can reach the main body quickly for even more open water.
